Quatrefoil Love...

Move over Greek Key, there's a new pattern in town (and I like it).

The Quatrefoil was a form of architectural detailing which peaked in popularity during the Gothic Revival and Renaissance period.  The actual form or 'foil', that makes up the shape is the outline of four symmetrical overlapping circles, which form a clover like pattern.  The pattern is seen with or without a small point in between each petal of the clover.  The most popular sites for viewing original quatrefoil patterns are in Italy, Spain, and England in the doors, arches, and towers of Gothic style churches.

Today, the quatrefoil pattern is used in many decorative forms, including pillows, fretwork, and even stationery.  The rounded edges and open negative spaces make for an interesting and pleasant pattern in most forms of decor, add a splash to your pad this spring.  C'mon, every one's doing it...

Gilded reign... the new trend in cocktail tables...

I know my grandma is looking down on me, pulling that hankie out of her sleeve, and wiping a tear of pride with this one.  Yes, those brass and gold leaf coffee tables that are now lining the attics of half of America, and sitting on the lawns of yard sales as I type these words, are back!  No, don't get out that hair crimper just yet, these are actually not what you think...  Most of you have probably noticed, that gold EVERYTHING is back, however; in the most lovely, chic, and sophisticated way you can imagine (sorry grams).   Coffee tables can anchor a space, display favorite vignettes of lovelies, or just hold your, well, coffee.  This trend can be a little bit glam, a little bit edgy, and a little bit vintage.  It is definitely Hollywood Regency as well.  It depends on your setting, and style, of course, but overall, it's a great versatile way to transform your space...  admire for yourself...

I'm stumped...

Well, as a lover of all things organic, I must say, this is a trend I'm really feelin'.  One of my favorite things about it, is it's versatility.  I've seen this look in so many settings, it really can fit into almost any one's design scheme.  Overall, I'd say it's a bit eclectic, a bit rustic, and quite refreshing in most spaces, take a look at some of these cool takes on the trend...

Mirror, mirror, on the... oh my it's everywhere.

Now don't get me wrong, I am crazy for the mirrored furniture trend.  In fact, I have a mirrored buffet cabinet in my dining room which I adore; however, any more mirrored pieces in my home, and all the oxygen would be sucked out of the rooms. So I will say this, unless you are a Kardashian blinged out celebrity , less is more with this one.  I myself have been guilty of overdoing it when I am swooning for something, just take my word on this one, and keep it tame.   Having said that;) here are some of my favorite mirrored furniture trends...

Bright and cheery painted furniture finds!

Yes, I know, trends can be scary daring, especially when they are bursting with color.  Some of these aren't as frightening as you may think.  Bright colors are refreshing to decorate with, and can be surprisingly chic.  For a small investment you can get a huge amount of impact, especially in that dark corner your always wondering what to do with:)

Setting that spring table...

This time of year many have upcomming weddings, holidays, and all things 'spring entertaining' on the mind.  Pink is defienately a signature color for spring, and what better way to showcase it, than on a scruptous tablescape, some of these designs are my own, the others are sourced below the photos, here's to spring!
